Everday Heroes

At first glance, this is a simple photo. On the surface three firemen are seen trying to stop a tragedy. However, when taking a closer look, the true complexity comes out.  The illumination of the firemen by the truck they drove shows me their late work hours.  The man in the background with the hands on his head makes me think the situation is worse than a general fire. This picture makes me feel appreciative for the fire fighters of the world and makes my heart go out to any who may have been injured in this fire.

  2. I like the lighting capturing the firemen in the background, it makes us see the real everyday heroes and the time they put into around the community.

  3. Wow Monica you did a terrific job. This photo makes me sad in a way, and appreciative that i have never had to go through a tragedy such as the man with his hands on his head did. Both the lighting and coloring in the photo are great. Thank God we have men working around the clock helping save lives<3

  4. Wow, the things you said really made me think. When I first looked at this picture, I liked it because it shows the heroes of our country, but people don't think of the things like the late hours you mentioned. And I like how you noticed the person in the background. In a lot of pictures, people only look at the surface. I mean that in both a literal and not literal sense. Sometimes people don't think of the background stories that came to make the picture, like the fact that someone's house could be burning down here. They only look at the surface and see the firefighters, no thought to the back story. Anyway, great picture! Very moving...

  5. I love how it is a dark photo and you only have a bit of light and how the firemen are stood.
